Logos

Every variant comes as a vector file and as a PNG in two resolutions. The PNGs have a transparent background.

All logos as a ZIPContains all four variants as SVG and PNG.

How to use the logo

The files are available for coverage of Green Ecolution. To keep the logo recognisable, please observe the following:

  • Keep the proportions, so do not stretch or crop the logo.
  • Do not change the colours. Use the white variant on dark backgrounds and the coloured one on light backgrounds.
  • Leave enough space around the logo so that it stands on its own.
  • Do not build the logo into other logos, wordmarks or graphics.

For any use beyond editorial coverage, please talk to us first.

The project in brief

Three lengths for news items, intros and background pieces. All wording is approved by the project and can be used unchanged.

  • One sentence

Green Ecolution is an open source project coordinated by Smarte Grenzregion that controls the irrigation of urban trees according to demand, using soil moisture sensors and the LoRaWAN network.

  • Short version, around 50 words

Green Ecolution is an open source project for the demand-driven irrigation of urban trees, coordinated by Smarte Grenzregion. Sensors placed at different depths measure soil moisture and transmit their readings over the LoRaWAN network. From that data the software derives irrigation recommendations, particularly for young trees in their first three years. It began at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences.

  • Long version, around 120 words

Green Ecolution is a digital system for the demand-driven and resource-efficient irrigation of urban trees. It began as a research project at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences. The work is coordinated by Smarte Grenzregion and continued together with PROGEEK GmbH, the City of Flensburg and its Technisches Betriebszentrum. Sensors placed at different depths measure soil moisture at the tree sites and transmit their readings over the LoRaWAN network. The software evaluates the measurement series and issues irrigation recommendations, so that crews water where watering is actually needed. The focus is on young trees, which are particularly vulnerable to heat in their first three years. The project is open source and the entire code is publicly available on GitHub. In 2025 Green Ecolution was presented and funded as one of the open source projects of DigitalHub.SH.
